This photo was taken using a speed light flash, a regular flashlight on the rocks, and an LED flash light with gels pointed toward the camera to make the graffiti glow.

Single Flash Assignment

Clinique make-up artist Vickie Vallero gives a Mizzou student a free make over on Lowry Mall on Monday afternoon. Clinique gave free make overs to anyone who stopped by as a part of their Clinique Fresh Faces Tour in association with Teen Vogue.

Freshman Page Dodman volunteers at the blood drive by passing out numbered stickers to potential donors on Wednesday afternoon. The Red Cross sponsored blood drive is an opportunity for many people and organizations both within the university and the Columbia community to get involved and help save lives.

Overall I was disappointed in my results on this assignment. Being new to handholding the flash off camera, I felt like I was so focused on getting the technical details correct that my content fell by the wayside. Also using the flash this way tend to make me more timid in my shooting because the flash is so in the subjects face its harder to ignore and have them act natural.

Metal and Glass Assignment

Recently there has been a trend in lower calorie, healthier alcoholic drinks which was the overall inspiration for this photo. I really enjoyed this photo shoot because it was a lot of fun being able to play around with different lighting ratios and different set-ups with the glass.
